Hey freshmen! Do you remember when you had your schedule for fall semester created for you when you registered for Southern Utah University? Well, this time, things are a little different. Because you get to register yourself for classes for spring semester! Don’t panic, it’s really not as difficult as it sounds. Here are some tips to help you get ready to register as a freshman and help you stay on track with the best schedule possible.
How to Register for Classes as a Freshman
First thing is to think about what schedule works best for you. What time of day do you learn best? Is there a class you’re really interested in taking? What generals do you still have to get out of the way? What is your major, and if you’re still undecided, what are you leaning towards? Remember, you may have to compromise with yourself a little in terms of class times and generals.
Once you have your schedule, follow these steps to register:
- Go to your and click the Registration link.
- Select the semester you are registering for (not the semester you are currently in).
- Once you have selected your schedule, click the “Send to Shopping Cart” button at the top of your screen.
Tips for Freshman Registration
First, freshman students need to have their RAC (Registration Access Code) removed by their student success advisor before they can register. Many students have done this already. If you haven't, quickly schedule an appointment with your student success advisor. If you have no idea what classes to take, they can help you pick to help you get generals out of the way. For more information, read up on how your student success advisor can help you.
Second, use DegreeWorks, available in your under the Resources dropdown menu, to see which classes you have taken and plan out courses for upcoming semesters. If you submitted credits from a high school AP or Concurrent class, those will show up in DegreeWorks.
