Cedar City hosts family-friendly events year round. Here’s a list of events you can visit as a student or with your family!
The Cedar City Half is a perfect high-altitude trainer for those preparing for full marathons held a few weeks later, including the St. George marathon. This 13.1 mile closed-canyon course is one of the nation's fastest as runners descend from 8,408 feet in elevation to 5,600 feet at the finish line in Cedar City near the Bicentennial Soccer Fields.

Few young people have the opportunity to grow up on a ranch or farm in today’s society. Accordingly, Cedar City pays tribute to the rich ranching and farming heritage of its ancestors through the Cedar City PRCA Championship Rodeo.

Ride 100K, almost exclusively on dirt roads with some seriously steep climbs. You’ll reach an elevation over 9,000ft. The race is chip-timed, so come see if you can podium or just beat your buddies. Amazing bird’s eye views towards Zion National Park and Cedar Breaks National Monument / Brian Head. Climb up magnificent Cedar Canyon. Circle the picturesque Kolob Reservoir. Enjoy a well marked route with superb food stops. Numerous ATVs patrolling the course.

You're invited to join us July 14, 2018 for the 21st annual Rotary July Jamboree from 3 to 9 p.m. on historic downtown Main Street in Cedar City, featuring vendors from the community, a beer garden, great food, a bouncy house, and beautiful classic cars. It's an unforgettable event for the whole family with activities for all ages and free to the public. Come experience the best of what our community has to offer!

Celebrate the holiday season at the annual Storybook Cavalcade parade on Cedar City's historic Main Street between 200 South and 400 North. This popular event is now in its second decade in Cedar City, delighting children and families with dozens of floats, giant helium balloons, marching bands, and hundreds of costumed characters, superheroes, and storybook celebrities. The Storybook Cavalcade is the largest parade of its kind in the Intermountain region, drawing thousands of spectators each year from Cedar City and throughout the region.

The Utah Summer Games is a festival for athletes of all ages and abilities. Since 1986, this event has been conducted in Cedar City, Utah with an average total of 9,600 participants, 50 thousand spectators, and 1,000 volunteers in attendance each year. Add all that together and you have one of the premier sporting events in Utah.
