AmeriCorps Education Award Program

What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorps is a federally funded program that provides financial awards for students completing a significant number of community service hours--300 or more--in a year. 91ɬÂþ's program is provided through a grant from the Corporation of National and Community Service as a subgrantee to UHEAN. It awards over $300,000 to 91ɬÂþ students each year.

Who should sign up?

AmeriCorps is ideal for education students doing student teaching, nursing students doing practicum hours, or any 91ɬÂþ student doing a significant number of community service hours.

What is required?

AmeriCorps members must be US citizens and enrolled at 91ɬÂþ. The enrollment process requires a one-hour orientation and enrollment paperwork. Once enrolled, members are required to submit a monthly time card reporting hours. Hours can not be counted until the enrollment process is completed.
