A.P.E.X. Events: Ambassador Tom C. Korologos

A.P.E.X. Events is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Michael O. Leavitt Center for Politics and Public Service Thursday, November 15, 2018. In celebration of the Leavitt Center’s 20th anniversary, the Center announces the creation of the Leavitt Center Award for Distinguished Public Service to Ambassador Tom C. Korologos, who will speak for the A.P.E.X. Event Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 11:30 am in The Great Hall on 91ɬÂþ’s campus.
This award is to be given to an individual with a lifetime of extraordinary public service and who has brought exceptional recognition to the state of Utah. The first recipient of this award, Ambassador Tom C. Korologos. Ambassador Korologos was born and raised in Utah and ascended to the height of public service in the United States. His service career started in the US Air Force and continued on to the US Senate, several White Houses, the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, the Broadcasting Board of Governors, the US Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy and culminated in a US Ambassadorship to Belgium.
As a journalist he began working with The Salt Lake Tribune, and since has worked for the New York Herald Tribune, the Long Island Press, and the Associated Press. Korologos has authored numerous op eds and articles for the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, the New York Times, Washingtonian Magazine and other publications.
Korologos earned his B.A. degree from the University of Utah and a M.S. degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
