15 Ways to Get Outside This Winter

Outside Winter ActivitiesWinter might be here, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t take some time to enjoy nature this season. Cedar City is located in the heart of Utah’s national parks, state parks, and endless adventure, and the fun doesn’t stop when it snows. 

Next time you are looking for some fresh air and sunshine (with the possibility of snow), check out these 15 ways to get outside this winter: 

In Cedar City: 

  • Host a snowball fight. Gather your friends and head to the Upper Quad or a local park for a snowball fight. Just be sure to dress warm! 
  • Build a snowman. 
  • Go ice skating. Cedar City is lucky to have its own ice skating rink. Located outside the Cedar City Aquatic Center, The Glacier Ice Rink offers open skate times as well as lessons. 
  • Join the Hockey Club. In partnership with The Glacier Ice Rink, is a fun and informative club. Join them to learn the basic rules and participate in training drills. 
  • Go sledding. Did you know that you can rent sleds from 91ɬÂþ Outdoors? Set aside an afternoon, rent a few sleds, and head to one of the many hills in Cedar City. 
  • Explore Main Street. Cedar City’s Main Street is beautiful with freshly fallen snow. Before you head out, grab a drink from to keep you warm, then take a walk down Main Street.
