Rock and Fossil Identification
If you found a rock or fossil specimen and you are interested in more information from 91ɬÂþ Geosciences faculty, please fill out the linked Google Form with information on your specimen, its original location, and a photo attachment.
For photos, be sure to take the image in a well-lit setting, in focus, with an object for scale (ruler, pencil, coin, etc.).
Important: it is against state and federal law to collect fossil bone and tooth specimens from public lands. Commercial collection of any type of specimens requires special permits. For more information, see the on rock, mineral, and fossil collection in Utah.
