Apply for Graduation

Complete the graduation application within the by the deadline date that corresponds to your last semester. A $50 late fee will be applied to all late applications.

Summer Semester Dec. 15

February 15, 2024: You will not graduate as a Fall 2023, Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 graduate if you do NOT apply for graduation by this date. This is also the last day to have your name printed in the commencement program and participate in the Spring 2024 Ceremonies.

All fees must be paid and your graduation survey completed before your transcript or diploma is released.

Ordering Caps and Gowns

The University provides one regalia package to graduates free of charge, and regalia does not need to be returned. 

Caps, gowns and tassels are required for all graduates to participate in both the university and individual college degree ceremonies.

Stoles can only be purchased in-person at the Grad Fair

Medallions

(Bachelor's Degree Recipients Only)

Summa Cum Laude (combined GPA 3.8 or higher) or Magna Cum Laude (combined GPA 3.6 - 3.79999) medallions, awarded to graduates receiving a bachelor's degree, can be picked up at the Grad Fair. Graduates who qualify for a medallion are notified in April. There is no charge for a medallion, and eligible graduates do not need to apply or order a medallion. To know whether your GPA qualifies you for a medallion or for answers to other questions regarding medallions, please email Blair Bentley in the Registrar's Office or call 435-586-7715.

Grad Fair

After ordering Regalia it will be distributed at the Hunter Alumni Center during the Grad Fair:

  • March 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • March 22, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • April 25, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • April 26, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Graduates unable to attend the Grad Fair can authorize an individual to pick up their regalia by completing the . To explore other pick up options, please email Trekker Burt

Grad Questionnaire

All graduates are required to complete a Grad Questionnaire. The questionnaire is in the and will open two weeks before the end of your last semester. Contact 91ɬÂþ's Career Center or call 435-586-5420 if you have any questions.

Printed Announcements

CB Announcements is the official provider of graduation announcements for Southern Utah University. A company representative will be at the 91ɬÂþ Bookstore in February taking orders for personalized graduation announcements. Contact the 91ɬÂþ Bookstore at 435-586-7995 for the exact date. Orders can also be placed at and are typically shipped within 3-5 business days.

The 91ɬÂþ Bookstore will have non-personalized graduation announcements (10/pack) available for purchase.

Graduation FAQ

Graduates who have spouses or immediate family members graduating in different colleges may request to have their degrees awarded in the same college convocation ceremony. Requests must be made no later than Friday, April 19, 2024, at 5 p.m. The graduate wishing to switch his/her college convocation ceremony must make the request by emailing graduation@suu.edu.
All graduates are encouraged to attend the University Commencement Ceremony and their respective College Degree Convocation Ceremonies unless excused by the Registrar's Office. If you have questions please email Blair Bentley at 435-586-7715 or at bentley@suu.edu.
