Board of Trustees Scholarship
The 91ɬÂþ Board of Trustees Endowment is funded by members of the Board of Trustees and awarded to an outstanding student of junior class standing. One outstanding student is chosen from the College of Education and Human Development to apply for this award.
In terms of financial assistance for a student, this is one of the most prestigious scholarships offered by the University. The award is full tuition and student fees, plus $1000, for an IN-STATE student. If the student is a non-resident, they will be responsible for the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition rates.
Eccles Scholarships
Eccles Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students from the Intermountain West who have excelled academically and personally in their lives. The Eccles scholarships are among the most prestigious on campus. The College of Education awards a $6,000 scholarship to one student each year.
Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Education Scholarship
The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Education Scholarship pays tuition and regular fees and will continue until the student graduates in Elementary Education with an additional 18 credits in Dance, Music, Visual Arts, or Theatre. Scholarship recipients must enroll for a minimum of 12 -18 credit hours each semester in order to maintain full-time status.
The program will also pay for credits earned in certain off-campus programs. All credits earned during such experiences, and paid for by the loan program, must be applicable to the Elementary Education licensure program the recipient is pursuing. Terrel H. Bell Teaching Scholarship
Terrel H. Bell Teaching Scholarships are awarded for up to eight semesters of study to deserving students who are pursuing the teaching profession in the state of Utah. This program provides significant funding for payment toward tuition and fees. Students must maintain a 3.0 GPA throughout the program. The deadline for submitting applications for the Terrel H. Bell Teaching Scholarship is March 1 of each year. Interested transfer or continuing students may contact Katie Guest in for applications, requirements, and deadlines.
Departmental Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are available to students demonstrating potential for excellence in education studies. All students need to do is go to your my91ɬÂþ Portal, and under Apps, select "Scholarships." Answer the few questions and you'll automatically be applied to any scholarship your eligible for. The deadline for applications is March 1 of each year.
Americorps Education Award
The Segal AmeriCorps Education Award is a post-service benefit earned by individuals who complete an approved term of national service in AmeriCorps programs. The award is named after Eli Segal, a pioneer of national service and the first CEO of the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
