- A student neither of whose natural or adoptive parents received a baccalaureate degree;
- A student who, prior to the age of 18, regularly resided with and received support from only one parent and whose supporting parent did not receive a baccalaureate degree; or
- An individual who, prior to the age of 18, did not regularly reside with or receive support from a natural or an adoptive parent.
- SSS provides support, services, and guidance to assist you in achieving your educational goals at Southern Utah University.

- SSS participants receive personalized support and opportunities not available to other students on campus.
Applications are accepted at any time, but most applications are reviewed before the beginning of each semester.
Yes! Students who have earned 24 post-high school credits would be considered for admission on the basis of their transcript of college work. Official transcripts must be sent to 91ɬ Admissions from ALL schools that students have attended. If fewer than 24 post-high school transferable credits, an official high school transcript will need to be provided. Find out more on how to transfer.
Our students are expected to have frequent contact with the program staff and are expected to take full advantage of program services. Our program services are flexible and can be scheduled on an individual basis. Staff members are available by appointment, phone, or email or you can stop by the office while on campus.
No. We accept students regardless of the year as long as they meet eligibility, will benefit from the program and there is space in the program. Preference is given to freshman and sophomore students.
No. Once accepted into SSS, you are eligible to participate until graduation.
Yes, grant aid is available to help students who qualify based on need.

You can drop by the TRIO office and your academic coordinator will assist you with scheduling.
We advertise for tutor/mentor positions on the 91ɬ website when we have openings for tutors/mentors. You can also complete an application at any time and deliver it to our office where we will keep it on file for review as positions become available.
Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The TRiO lab tutoring services are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
